Furthermore, to inform relevant stakeholders (i.e. patients and physiotherapists), they will help us with plannig information sessions.
MIRA Rehab
MIRA Rehab enhances the delivery of physiotherapy treatment using consumer hardware and video-games to encourage and track patient compliance. All physiotherapists agree that adherence to prescribed home exercises reduces recovery time. By mapping traditional physiotherapy exercises with custom build video-games, MIRA makes physiotherapy fun and convenient to increase patient compliance. While the patient plays, MIRA tracks and evaluates their experience, to provide to the physiotherapist with persistent information regarding the patient’s recovery.
MIRA is contributing to the project by providing feedback on the rehabilitation tasks that our robotic controller is going to apply. They are also interested in the developments of this project as by using the BETER REHAB robot with their system, they could increase their impact by assisting patients with very low motion potential.

Even though National Instruments is not an official partner of the project, they did kindly provide equipment that is necessary for the developments of BETER REHAB. More specifically, they provided the equipment for acquiring the electromyography (EMG) signals for predicting the intention of motion of a patient. Furthermore, through their academic licensing program, they also provide a Campus wide license of LabVIEW, their development environment.
